ARE YOU SUFFOCATING YOUR GIRLFRIEND WITH DREAD?By BreakUpAdviceOnline.com Staff
If you notice your girlfriend is implying the need for “space,” it could be symptom of a faint cry for help. A strong relationship built by spending quality time will reach a certain time of comfort level that being together is like being at home. It is a relationship that is not leashed as one-way traffic, where the demand of only one person is satisfied. If your girlfriend wants space, it means that her private bubble is being bashed in a subtle way. She needs to regain back her privacy or be given ease to reflect on herself about your relationship. Being with someone is not simply having someone to interact to, but someone to interact with. When a girl wants a space, she feels like strangled on the neck by some pressures, which you could have habitually imposed on her, or attitudes, which she may find tolerable for some time. This amount of tolerable time will be nauseating if repeated constantly until such time that the effort to conform to your attitude gets tough. If the girl is constantly pressured to behave in a manner not used to her, it will turn out to be tiring that she will demand to get back her own freedom of space. It is a common phrase to hear “it takes two to tango.” It means that if you only try to meet halfway and work out in full cooperation by making things easier for your mate to build your relationship, it will work better. Being in love with someone is a mixture of compatibility and incompatibility. A person who truly loves needs no effort to accomplish this. Pure love is giving and not imprisoning someone. If you seem to hold a person like a possession, then it is an indication that your feeling is not motivated by real love. Assess yourself if you are just attracted to her because of some physical assets she has, which you think has boosted your vanity to further advantage, or you truly love her regardless of her defects. You can list down your faults and assess why she keeps her distance for sometime. Is it you or is it her? List down your attitudes, which your relatives and parents abhor, and see if you are doing the same to your girlfriend. List your expectations of her and how you want her to act on this. Then try to list down your girlfriend’s weaknesses and strong points. Score yourself and find out if it is your attitude or her that is affecting the relationship. Talk to her and know. She may have a very personal problem that she cannot tell you. It may be that she just does not want to involve you in its complexity. If you happen to live with this girlfriend in pre-marital relationship, both of you occupy 100% of the space you are living in. This means that the two of you take 50/50 of the place. In some practical terms it means that your privacy as a person is no longer fully yours. The things you commonly do tend to affect your girl, which is something you have to adjust in time. Generally this goes unnoticed and a matter of getting used to. Families since time immemorial has passed by living happily subdividing the private bubbles to each other until it becomes a way of life. Usually the comfort level extends in many years and may comprise one happy picture of filial organization. In a relationship, the demand is stronger for females that there is a strong pressure in balancing domestic and career tasks. This is sometimes harder for two people who have not yet developed a strong foundation in relationship, and this turning point could make or break the process.
