Love always begins in the same way. Two people meet then become friends. The frequency leads to an attraction until such time that the two decide to be a couple. Should this become serious, the people can already start planning and then get married. Not all marriages end in a happy one. There are people who have been together for 10 years and more only to realize that the fire is gone. The individuals are no longer happy and want a divorce. A divorce takes time to process. When this is all over, a new day will begin with both people living separate lives. Not being with someone will take some adjustments. This force of habit will be hard to ignore which is why those involved should avoid contact. This means not calling each other unless there is an emergency with the kids. It is not the fault of the children that the couple decides to separate. There are issues that can’t be resolved which makes it important to make the kids understand the situation. The couple should communicate often to provide kids with a father and a mother as role models. In the event that one parent abandons the family, this makes the task of being a single parent harder to whoever is left behind. The support of family and friends will really help here get the person through this situation. These people may not necessarily know how it feels like should this happen. The assistance that these people decide to offer should it be financial or emotional can go a long way to help the person become stronger after this experience. Talking with friends and family has limitations since these people don’t know much about the psychological impact it does to the person and the children. This makes it important to talk to a professional such as a psychiatrist who can give the right recommendations to get the patient get through this. Some people can’t a divorce very well and settle for other things such as smoking or drinking. Those who are prone to do that should seek help immediately to not bring the family into a deeper hole. Not everybody is open to talk about the separation and the after effects. Those who need a private outlet can drive away for a few days and come back feeling recharged. Others can try to live a normal life but fill that void with new things such as classes and other activities the person can sign up in. Another way to let the feelings out is to cry. This is also part of the healing process that prevents the person from going into a state of depression that is also harmful for the children. People that don’t cry should enroll in the gym or be busy with work and the family to be focused on the things that matter in life. Separation is a very painful thing that affects everyone in the family. The lessons learned from the previous relationship can make the person stronger and smarter should that person decide to fall in love again. Some people have a hard time dealing with reality. This makes the journey of getting over with the separation a long one which could take years. By learning to cope with the loss and working on the present, the individual will learn to live life again. Those who are in that situation should take it one day at a time. With the help of family and friends, the person will be able to move on with life and provide a good future for the children.
