How to get your life back after break-up

By BreakUpAdviceOnline.com Staff

Things come to an end. Just as your relationship ended, there is also an end to your sadness and depression. Broken hearts do not remain broken forever. People recover. They move on and find new loves. All they just have to do is open their hearts once again.

It will not however be as easy as you think to deal with a break-up. This is especially true if the relationship mean so much to you. The longer the time that you spent together, the more painful it would be afterwards because the memories will slowly eat your resolve. You will not be able to eat or sleep. And yet, you would not want to get out of bed. all you want to do is to mope around all day and just indulge in bouts of self-pity. You will suddenly lose interest in everything.
After a break-up, people would stop doing the things that they loved to do before. This is actually unfortunate because those activities will be the things that can help them heal. Some people, on the other hand, are human dynamos. Instead of moping around, they cope by burying themselves in work and doing everything that they can possibly do. These are the kinds of people who would stay late in the office, alphabetize the kitchen cabinet and clean the house at least three times in one day.

But no matter how you cope with the situation, only one thing is constant. Life goes on. You need to live once again. You deserve to live one again and get a second shot at love.
Below are some tips on how to start a life after a breakup.

Start a hobby.

One thing that will help you forget and heal is doing something new. This will require your concentration, which can help you fill the void in your life. Try to remember the things that you wanted to do before but never got around to doing. Were you interested before in the arts? Did you want to enroll in a dance class? This is a great time to start a new hobby or an activity.

Enroll in a cooking school and bake cakes. Start to attend classes on painting, sketching and watercolors and spend time in the park drawing and creating your masterpiece.

Creative stuff will help you find a venue or an outlet for the emotions that you cannot still express or the feelings that are still bottled up inside. If you are the type of person who is not comfortable with expressing your feelings, starting a creative activity will help you let it out in a manner that will not be hard for you.

Write it out.

Keeping a journal can be really juvenile but it does help people to put things in perspective. Writing your feelings can help you tremendously. This is especially true with people who are not much into revealing their feelings.Paper can be wonderful listener and an outlet for emotions that you are not comfortable in sharing.

Some people are not keen in documenting their feelings for fear that somebody will read what they have written. If this is the case, you can always throw the paper into the trash bin after you have let your feelings out. That way, there will be no danger of people ever reading your private thoughts. Make sure though that you have disposed of the paper properly. Do not just crumple it. Tear it to small pieces or burn it.

Volunteer.

Helping other people is a wonderful way to cope with our troubles. Now that you have a lot of free time, use that time productively by volunteering in your favorite institutions. Do community service. Join a fund-raising campaign and help out. Get involve in various organizations. This is a good way to start living again and interacting with other people. Who knows, you might meet your next love in one of the organizations.

Travel.

A change of scene is sometimes quite effective in helping people cope with a break-up. This is especially true if the place you are living in right now is full of memories that you still find painful. Travel around. You don’t have to go to somewhere really far. You can just take the train and go to another town or to another state. Living in a new environment will help you to focus on the present rather than dwell in the past.
