Divorce around the CornerBy BreakUpAdviceOnline.com Staff
The story doesn’t end there. A few years later, friends will just hear of the terrible news that both parties have decided to call it quits. Everything has been done to save it such as counseling and more quality time but unfortunately it was never meant to be. A study shows that women are the first to bring up the idea compared to men. This means that most males don’t see any red flags or any warning signs until it is too late. The beginning of the end does not happen over a short period of time. It can begin on the side of the husband or the wife and slowly, it will continue to pick up until it is gone. Here are some signs that people should watch out for to avoid falling into this situation. 1. When the couple does not go together anymore to attend a family function. This could be because of work or some other excuse that may seem harmless at first while the other person still insists that the other one should attend. 2. Marriage is about talking to each other and enjoying the little things in life. When the couple doesn’t spend quality time and are both too busy to be paying attention to the needs of the other, then this could get worse. 3. Believe it or not, one of the keys to a successful marriage is Sex! If the couple doesn’t do it anymore, then physical intimacy which is a factor in keeping the relationship together is fading. 4. When the couple first started out dating, there were a lot of out of town trips planned and executed. If the couple doesn’t do that anymore even if there is money to splurge, then there is a problem. 5. If the husband notices that the wife is spending more time budgeting than spending, this could be a potential problem. Divorces always end in a settlement and money is an important factor when getting out of a marriage. 6. If the husband is the breadwinner in the house and all of a sudden the wife decides to get a job without discussing the issue, this could be disturbing. A marriage is a partnership where things are agreed upon before anything is done. When other instances happen such as opening an individual account despite the fact that both have a joint account, then there is something really amiss. 7. Should the husband or wife start coming home late with excuses such as a hard day at the office even though it wasn’t, that is also another sign of divorce knocking at the door. 8. When petty things that the couple can talk about and laugh about in the past turn into a domestic dispute, that is also an indication that both no longer see eye to eye on certain issues. 9. When the spouse begins to sense there is another person in the relationship and is caught, even if the partner decides to forgive, it will be very difficult or hopeless to earn that trust back. 10. If the couple can’t talk to each other anymore and the conversation always turns into a shouting match or acts of physical violence, then the relationship has really failed. Divorce is something that should be taken seriously and only used as a last resort. Not only will it separate two people but it can do worse to those who are caught in it if there are children involved. If both people have noticed any changes, there is still hope that the marriage can be saved. Not everyday is a sunny day. There will be misunderstandings and the important thing when this happens is finding a way to resolve it. People who don’t heed the warnings will just become another statistic. If the couple knows of friends who have been in this situation, it is best to listen as not to repeat the same mistake. The couple can go to counseling or try other means but in the end, it is up to both parties to make a marriage work.
